PESCO (Peshawar Electric Supply Company) is responsible for distributing electric power in Peshawar and its surrounding areas. PESCO provides power distribution services to over 2.6 million customers in the urban areas. PESCO’s network comprises 132, 66, and 33 kV substation lines, 11 kV and 440 V low voltage substations, and lines that connect homes and businesses to electricity.

What is the PESCO Bill Reference Number?

The reference number is a combination of a batch number, sub-division number, and account number. The batch number is a two-digit code representing the record’s batch, and the sub-division number is a five-digit code representing the consumer’s area of electricity. The reference number has 14 digits, and it is assigned permanently to each consumer.

What is PESCO Bill Customer ID?

You can also check your PESCO electricity bills online using your 10-digit customer ID. This is a unique ID that is located on the top section of your Pesco bill, right above the reference number. You can access your PESCO bill by simply providing your customer identification number.

This system is developed by the Ministry of Energy so that people can register and track their complaints, and check the status of their PESCO new connection applications.

  • First, you have to visit the CCMS site and click on feeder details.
  • Then in the search section enter your 14-digit reference number.
  • You will get the complete load-shedding schedule of your feeder.
  • You can also search by using your grid station detail or city to get the schedule.

Register and Track Complaints

You can complain against PESCO through the CCMS platform. This system not only allows you to register your complaint but also provides the convenience of tracking its progress and status. To register a complaint, follow these steps:

  • Visit the CCMS site and click on “Register Complaint.”
  • Verify your identity as a registered PESCO consumer using either your mobile number or a 14-digit reference number.
  • Depending on your preference, provide either your mobile number or reference number to proceed.
  • If you are a registered consumer, your details will be retrieved.
  • Enter your complaint in the Complaint Detail Section.
  • Click “Register Complaint” to submit.

Extension Of Due Date Of PESCO Bill

However, you have the option to request an extension for the payment deadline if you wish to avoid these extra charges. It’s important to note that only a limited number of PESCO officers have the authority to grant such extensions.

If you have questions about extending your due date, you can contact the following PESCO officer:

  • Assistant Manager Operation (AMO) has the authority to extend the due date of bills up to Rs. 10,000 by three days.
  • The authority to extend the due date of bills up to Rs. 25,000 by an extra three days lies with the Deputy Manager of Operations (DMO).
  • Manager of Operations (MO) has the authority to extend the due date for bills up to Rs. 200,000 by 5 days.
  • Chief Engineer/ Customer Services Director (CE/CSD) has the authority to grant a five-day extension for bills up to Rs. 50,000.
  • Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) have the authority to grant a ten-day extension on the due date for any portion of an invoice.

PESCO Bill Installment Procedure

Due to the rising cost of electricity, PESCO has introduced a new option for customers to pay their bills in smaller installments over time.

This initiative aims to alleviate financial burdens and enhance bill management by allowing customers to split their payments into smaller amounts. PESCO officials responsible for handling installment applications can be contacted for further guidance and assistance.

  • AMO can allow 3 installments for bills up to Rs 10,000 (running) and Rs 20,000 (disconnected).
  • DMO have the option for customers to pay their bills in three installments for amounts up to Rs 2,00,000 for active connections and Rs 1,00,000 for disconnected connections.
  • MO can allow 4 installments for bills up to Rs 2,00,000 (running) and Rs 5,00,000 (disconnected).
  • CE/CSD can allow 12 installments for running connection and 6 installments for disconnected connection for bills up to Rs.10,00,000.
  • CEO has full powers.

1. Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA)

The Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA) is for the fluctuations in fuel costs experienced by rental control companies that depend on sources such as crude oil. The FPA amount listed on your bill directly corresponds to the impact of these fuel price changes.

2. Financing Cost Surcharge (FC Surcharge)

This is the effective debt servicing payments by Power Holding Private Limited, a charge of 43 Paisa per unit is levied.

3. Tariff Rationalization Surcharge (TR Surcharge)

This surcharge arises from variances in tariffs between NEPRA and the GOP. If there’s a positive difference, the GOP pays it as a “Subsidy.” If there’s a negative difference, the Distribution Company pays the GOP as an “Associate DISCO Tax Rationalization Extra charge (IDTR SUR).”

4. Quarterly Tariff Adjustment/DMC

This amount reflects quarterly tariff changes and appears on your bill every three months.

5. Deferred Amount

This is a portion of your bill that you can choose to pay either in the current month or later. If you defer payment, there won’t be any late fees, but the amount may be added to your next bill for installment or full payment.

6. TV Fee

Your PESCO online bill includes an additional Rs.35 to support Pakistan Television (PTV) reserves.

7. General Sales Tax (GST)

A 17% GST is calculated based on the cost of electricity and included in your bill’s total amount.
